Q Department Studios are a high-definition recording facility with a venerable tip of the hat to the legendary studios from the 1930's. Q Department Studios are a catacomb of integrated liveroom areas, control room studios and echo chambers. The interconnected spaces are designed to strategically provide a variety of real simultaneous discrete acoustic environments each with their own complex acoustic characteristics.
Located on Howard Street in Chinatown New York where Martin Scorcese shot "Afterhours" the recording studios have been carefully designed around he principles of resonance and harmonics.
Designed by acoustician Jim Falconer
